Tiny Worlds: Life Inside a Terrarium Kingdom
Step into the shoes of an eco-engineer, artist, and storyteller in this imaginative, hands-on holiday workshop. 🌿🧚
Tiny Worlds invites students to design, build, and narrate the lives of fantastical micro-civilisations living inside their own self-sustaining terrariums. Blending environmental science, narrative writing, artistic design, and world-building, this course explores the hidden magic of miniature ecosystems. Students will craft their own closed-loop terrarium, invent original species to inhabit their worlds, and bring their creations to life through storytelling, mapping, and miniature decor. From the science of the water cycle to the legends of moss-dwelling creatures, every part of the day is designed to ignite creativity and curiosity. The course finishes with a gallery-style showcase where students share their tiny kingdoms and the stories that shape them. Perfect for curious minds who love nature, fantasy, and making things with their hands. 9am-3pm on Tuesday 1st July.

Marvellous Magnetism
Map Making Magic: Fantasy Cartography Workshop
Get ready to sculpt, animate, and direct your own mini masterpiece in this hands-on STEAM workshop! 🎬
Budding filmmakers will explore the art of stop-motion animation using simple tools and loads of imagination. Students will learn how to sculpt a basic Morph-style character from a single piece of plasticine before creating their own unique designs. In the afternoon, it's lights, camera, action! They'll storyboard, film, and edit their own short stop-motion movie using the Stop Motion Studio or iStopMotion app (please have this preloaded on an iPad or phone). We provide all materials: plasticine, boards, and sculpting tools—just bring your creativity and a device with the app installed. Perfect for creative kids aged 6–12 who love art, tech, and storytelling! 9am-3PM on Thursday 3rd July.
Get ready to explore the invisible world of forces and fields in this action-packed physics-based workshop! 🧲
Marvellous Magnetism dives into the science behind how magnets work, what magnetic fields are, and how electricity and magnetism are linked through electromagnets. Through hands-on experiments and investigations, students will explore real scientific concepts in a fun, accessible way. From testing the strength of different magnets to building simple electromagnets and mapping magnetic fields, this day is full of discovery and excitement. If time allows, students will use their new knowledge to design a magnetic game to take home! Each student must bring a cardboard shoebox – we’ll supply all magnets, wires, and tools needed. Perfect for those who love asking “how does that work?”
9am-3PM on Monday 7th July.
