The Bee Lab: Science, Shapes & Sustainability

๐Ÿ Buzz Into Bees Day! ๐Ÿ

Join us for a hands-on, curiosity-filled day all about bees. Weโ€™ll explore the fascinating science behind these tiny but mighty creatures, learning how they live, communicate, and play a vital role in our environment and food systems.

Students will discover why bees are so important for our food systems and ecosystems, before getting creative with their own beeswax wrap making to take home. We will also delve into geometric shape work inspired by the patterns of honeycombs. Weโ€™ll investigate why bees use hexagons, explore shape, pattern, and design, and connect maths with the natural world in a creative and meaningful way.

A perfect mix of science, creativity, maths and real-world learning, this is a day designed to spark curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

9am-3pm on Wednesday 8th April.

๐ŸŽญ Pint Sized Players: Create Your Own Play ๐ŸŽญ

Step into the world of theatre and bring your ideas to life in this creative, hands-on holiday programme.

Inspired by the Pint-Sized Plays concept, students will work together to create and perform their own short play, under 5 minutes long. With just 2โ€“3 actors, minimal props, and a simple set, the focus is on storytelling, creativity, and imagination.

Throughout the day, students will:
โ€“ Create unique characters and develop a storyline
โ€“ Turn their ideas into a short script
โ€“ Explore acting, expression, and stage presence
โ€“ Design a simple set and source props using whatโ€™s around us
โ€“ Watch short performances for inspiration and take part in fun drama exercises

Weโ€™ll finish the day by rehearsing and presenting our mini masterpieces, with parents invited to arrive early for a special performance.

A brilliant opportunity for confident performers and budding creatives alike to build confidence, collaborate, and tell their own story.

 9am-3pm on Thursday 16th April.
