Global Zoologists: A Journey Around the World

Travel the World. Discover Wildlife. Think Like a Scientist 🌍🦜🔬

Want to be the next David Attenborough? This term, students will combine geography, biology, and scientific inquiry as they become Global Zoologists, travelling across the world to investigate some of the planet's most fascinating animals and the environments they call home. Using mapping skills, world geography, and zoological science, students will explore a range of ecosystems, from the Amazon Rainforest and African Savannah to the Himalayas and the deep ocean.

Along the way, students will discover remarkable animal adaptations and investigate the science behind them, including regeneration, camouflage, echolocation, flight, thermal insulation, and survival in extreme environments. Through hands-on experiments, research projects, and practical challenges, they will develop their understanding of both the natural world and the scientific principles that shape it.

Students will document their journey through a major term-long project, choosing to create either a wildlife documentary or podcast, an animal encyclopaedia, or an explorer's travel diary. As they "travel" to each destination, they will build a portfolio of learning that combines scientific knowledge, creativity, communication skills, and global awareness. The term will culminate in a Global Zoology Summit, where students will share their discoveries and celebrate their journey around the world.

Biology Systems: Discover the Science Inside You

Global Cultural Explorers

Uncovering the Secrets of the World's Most Amazing Machine 🫀🧠🧬

This term, students will embark on a fascinating exploration of the human body, discovering how different body systems work together to keep us alive, healthy, and functioning every day. Beginning with the basic building blocks of life, students will investigate what makes each of us unique before exploring the major organ systems that support life on Earth.

Through hands-on experiments, model building, scientific investigations, games, and real-life observations, students will learn about the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, nervous, and integumentary systems. They will observe their own body functions, examine how different systems interact, and compare human adaptations with those of other animals.

This highly interactive science programme encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the incredible complexity of the human body and how its many systems work together to support everyday life.

Wednesdays (group 1 - with Neha)

Journey Across Continents. Discover Cultures. Experience the World. 🌎🎭✈️

This term, students will become cultural anthropologists as they embark on an exciting journey around the world, exploring the traditions, customs, arts, music, food, and daily life of different cultures. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and immersive experiences, students will discover both the unique characteristics and shared values that connect people across the globe.

Travelling to a range of countries and regions, students will investigate traditional celebrations, clothing, dance, music, storytelling, food, art, and cultural practices while learning basic greetings and developing an appreciation for cultural diversity. Along the way, they will create, build, perform, taste, design, and document their discoveries through authentic cultural experiences.

Students will choose a major term-long project, creating either a cultural documentary, a living museum exhibit, or an anthropologist's field journal. These projects will allow them to develop their research, communication, creativity, and presentation skills while building a rich portfolio of learning. The term will conclude with a World Culture Expo, where students will showcase their work and share their journey around the world with others.
